![]() This week, with the annual Tcl Conference kicking off in Houston, we’re proud to open source this code with a BSD license. I'm not entirely sure what is the best method for producing a single distributable file for ActiveTcl 8.6 applications. In 2006, ActiveState provided the initial TEApot beta on the Tcl Conference CD, and by 2007 it was in production. In addition, using tclkit instead of tclsh works properly, however tclkit does not come with the same packages or binaries.ĪctiveTcl 8.5 comes with TEApot utilities, which I have not looked into. However, this means I would need to distribute ActiveTcl alongside the application. Note that using tclsh sdx.kit wrap test -interp tclsh succeeds in creating a starkit. ![]() ActiveTcl 8.5 comes with TEApot utilities, which I have not looked into. The standard client (teacup) recognizes them as well. In addition, using tclkit instead of tclsh works properly, however tclkit does not come with the same packages or binaries. They are special insofar as the provided repository server (teapot) recognizes them and tags them as such in the package listings it generates in response to search and list requests. all of the packages (and more) can be gotten from the TEApot. % # (Note this is on x86_64 Linux, not sure if it's just me) However, this means I would need to distribute ActiveTcl alongside the application. teacup install ActiveState::ActiveTcl -is profile. % # Running the produced executable simply runs the repl! $ tclsh test.vfs/main.tcl # This runs the program, no errors However this method does not work with ActiveTcl's distribution tclsh. Something like sdx and tclkit work to create single-file applications, starpacks.
